Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan - LPS is the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (IDIC). LPS is the independent financial institution in Indonesia which was formed to promote a sound and stable banking system in Indonesia. LPS was formed by the Government of Indonesia to insure bank depositors’ deposits. The institution also has main function to maintain the stability of the financial system. Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan was formed on 2004 under the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 24 of 2004 concerning the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation/IDIC (Lembaga Penjamin Simpanan/LPS) and officially operated on 22 September 2005.
